Essays / SURGERY SCAR; Overcoming Hardships Essay [2]

I didn't write my essay yet, but I have a topic in mind. I wanted to talk about this surgery scar I have ever since I was a little baby because of a heart condition/disease.

But the thing is, I don't know where the essay will "lead to". I don't know if I should say something like "I learned not to care when others look at my scar", but that sounds so common and unoriginal.

I know I'm not really being specific, but can someone guide me through this?
