Undergraduate / "Tunisia and Ben Ali" - essay B :an issue of importance to you [NEW]

I'm from Tunisia. Tunisia is a North Africa country with half population less than 25 years old. It's comparatively modern society with high levels of literacy and stability. However, Tunisian society was plagued with rampant unemployment. Moreover, the government was corrupted. The old autocrat, Ben Ali was out of touch with the statements of young Tunisian people. The national economy was failing down, the country was ideated. Even more, Ben Ali maintained 1, 50,000 strong police forces to chase journalists and to eradicate any other political opponent. As a Tunisian, I always felt depressed, constrained to silence and deprived from my right of free speech.

The immolation of Bouazizi, on 17th, December 2010, was a change point in Tunisia's history. Just after this incident, we Tunisian have decided to put an end to the dictatorship of Ben Ali. So has begun the Tunisian revolution. Peaceful movements rose against the despotic regiment all over the country. I have participated in manifestation at my school. We have been claiming freedom of expression. Everyone was holding slogans and cards to show our protest. To add with we have wrote "Tunisia is free" with our bodies. It was so amazing and expressive!! I'll never forget that day! Things happened very quickly and on 14th, January 2011, thousands of Tunisians were in front of the interior minister, yelling "Ben Ali out!!" women, men, children, old people were determined to abolish this dictatorship. "The social contract" was reasserted between as Tunisian and Ben Ali. As a result he fled to Saudi Arabia.

I think that our revolution is one of the strongest revolutions in the world. I believe in its power to surmount social challenges. As I said before, the main problem in my country is unemployment with a rate of 14%. After 14th, January, many European, American, Arab and Tunisian business men and women are thinking to invest in Tunisia. They are planning to invest in the sector of tourism and the industrial sector. So foreigner investment will help decrease the unemployment rate. Regionalism is a big problem in Tunisia. However, after the revolution, Tunisian people are becoming more and more united. As a result, many people of east region like Tunis, Sousse, go to poor region to help persons in need with providing food, clothing, healthcare and financial aid. On top of that, we don't forget the help given by Tunisians to people evacuated from Libya. I have participated many times in collecting aids for Libyan people with my friends. It was an exceptional experience! For me the revolution is the best thing happened in my country. Now I can speak freely, express my opinions, write article without censorship. I feel released. I can enjoy my right of voting. I am now a real citizen!

I hope that this revolution (jasmine revolution) will lead Tunisia to democracy and the respect of human rights. I also hope that my country will become a developed country, where everyone can live without discrimination, racism, and regionalism. I hope that our economical problem will be solved and that Tunisia will be a paradise on earth. And we have to work to achieve all this because impossible is not Tunisian!!
