Undergraduate / phone calls for a political campaign - common app short answer [NEW]

In the space provided below, please elaborate on one of your activities (extracurricular, personal activities, or work experience)(150 words or fewer).
Please help revise this.

I eagerly entered the building ready to make phone calls for a political campaign; however, I soon realized that this was going to be a difficult job. After the first few phone calls, I already had a few people offensively yelling and hanging up because we had different political views. I felt like I wanted to give up and I just couldn't understand how someone could be so disrespectful since everyone has their own opinions. As I finally decided to continue, I felt a little hesitant to make more phone calls; until I finally called a young woman who had a different political view. However, she kindly listened to what I had to say and at the end of the day I wanted to come back and volunteer again. That day I had learned that I should always respect someone's beliefs, even if they do not respect mine.
