Book Reports / 'Jack or Ralph lead' - an essay on a book called Lord of the Flies [3]
You can actually do a good job with this question. Lord of the Flies has not only won many accolades but also is a popular paper in many Universities.
The best way to begin your essay would be give a small character sketch about Ralph and Jack. You need to mention about their dominating traits here. While you have given a few instances of where they failed to do the role of a perfect leader, this part can be further elaborated. You can add in points where Jack made mistakes such as taking undue advantage of the boys' belief in the monster just to gain their votes and become their leader, missing out on the rescue because the fire watching boys were called for hunting and so on.
You should also add elaborate about the mistakes committed by Ralph such as letting the boys become idle under his leadership, being worried about him gaining his leadership position when they miss the rescue opportunity because of Jack etc.
However, a comparison between Jack and Ralph shows Jack portrays the dark side of human nature, and goes to the extent of wanting to murder Ralph.
Ralph, on the other hand, is better, because he not only works on a systematic organised manner, figuring out how to get out of the island, but is also polite with the group.
You can add in a lot more of content. Write to me if you need more points :-)
