Scholarship / 'where education was the least of importance' Statement for architectural Scholarship [3]

Growing up in a village where education was the least of importance during my father's era. My junior high school has not been the best; I became most aware of the importance of education during my high school. I hail from a small indigenous tribe called the NAGAS which is further divided into a number of tribes in the North-Eastern part of India. I have never heard about architecture when in junior high until I was introduced to it by my uncle. But I have always been interested in clay modeling and painting and have won many prizes since junior high. The Naga people are very skilled and creative people. But due to the lack of resources, technology and expertise we have been unable to implement our creativity into practice. Lack of exposure and opportunity has had a great impact, which as a result, makes me the second only from among my tribesman (Mao tribe, a 100,000 population) to pursue architecture. It is seen that globalization has contributed largely in the civilization of mankind but has also taken away much identity. Due to the lack of Ideas, cultural identity has been lost. It is very important to preserve ones' culture even with development. Also we are richly blessed with the beauty of nature. But due to the lack of proper planning, haphazard growth has resulted in environmental destruction. Because of my dedication and commitment I am an active planning advisor towards the development carried out in many villages with the fund provided by the government for rural development. It is my utmost interest to learn and gain the most of knowledge and be a backbone in the architectural development and contribute more sensitively to the development of my community and beyond, which seems impossible without a scholarship. If granted a scholarship I would work really hard and harvest all my time in learning so that upon returning, the knowledge I gained would be a treasure for my home country. I can assure my contribution towards the development of my home country not only as a practitioner but also as an advisor and a teacher.

Please help me with this. thank you all.
