As most people spend a major part of their adult life at work, job satisfaction is an important element if indiviadual wellbeing.
What factors contribute to job satisfaction ?
How realistic is the expection of job satifaction for all workers?
The job satisfaction issue has been an increasingly hot topic of discussion, because people spend most their life at work. In this essay I will analyze some possible factors of this phenomenon and then propose some solutions.
It is obvious that the factors of job satisfaction are diverse. In the first place is the salary, which has been recognized as one of the most effective motivations for staff for many decades. Specifically, the eventual purpose of working is leading a better life by earning money. Hence, there is no other elements could substitute the dominant position of the salary. Secondly, promotions also play a significant role in people's job satisfactions. For example, because of the instincts of human-beings, everyone desires to outstand. So, to some extent, the promotion not only satisfies the ambitions of employees, but also it tends to be the criteria for one's success. Last but not least, stress has the inherent advantages of augmenting productivity. However, once the stress was spinning out of the employer's control, and then the staff would live in a frustrating and anxious surrounding. As a result of it, with the increase of job-hopping incidence, the job satisfaction decrease dramatically incidence, which poses the threats to the survivals of companies.
Even though it is unrealistic for employers to meet all expectation from all employees, yet the widespread existences of some expectations are probable to be adopted as contractive suggestions that are beneficial to the job satisfaction. If the companies make progress in those factors mentioned, then the job satisfaction would be elevated considerably.
