Undergraduate / "Rising from failure" Common App Essay Option 1 (Significant exp... etc) [4]
So I tried to clarify my first 2 paras. I combined both in the end...Is it any better? This will be the intro:
My conscience was dominated by a sinister belief - what was left of me was an abominable child enraptured in video games, so much that he had chosen it over school. Games are prioritized and school is picayune was his conviction. Where was his conscience? Intrinsically draconian, a stimulus was all that was needed to evoke it and eclipse the belief; it came only under inadvertent circumstance: failure. My parochial views on the educational system of Middle School was what epitomized my conscience's suppression. I had always viewed school as a place of freedom, a place that manifested the belief that I could effortlessly channel through school work and maintain high marks conjointly as a stream would meander through a river unobstructed. I was wrong. I subscribe gratification to you failure. It was you that opened my eyes. It was you that humiliated me, but on the same breadth, gave me a new beginning.
