In this rush era, most of us have to be multi-tasking to be able to meet with every social expectation, which requires continuous action and no rest. Since there is no time for rest and leisure, we move more and more away from ourselves and become more and more stressed. It is vital finding a way to manage stress in order to preventing overwhelming life strain becomes a threat to our health. I, personally, believe that Yoga practice- including breathing, posture, and meditation- is the best way to relieve pressure.
Stress reduction is a result of stress management. Yoga is a practical approach to develop self-management. Through practicing Yoga posture, we are connecting our body and mind: when the body and mind are synchronized, we not only strengthen our muscle but also refresh our mind. Additionally, facing stress with a deep breath brings us into the present quickly, which is a very efficient way to take the mind away from mental worry. By doing meditation, give us the time to reflect, we can set the negative feeling free or find the answer to our problem.
A recent study indicated that individuals who completed the yoga session had a 27 percent increase on average in GABA levels which is a brain chemical that has a generally calming, anti-anxiety effect within the brain. Through yoga we can learn to develop a relaxation skills that make us enable to adjust ourselves into a better physical and psychological states to fight with stress.
Managing stress is a critical lesson in our life. Yoga not only provides a way to get into shape physically, and also offers a holistic approach to coping with the miscellaneous stress of daily life.
