Essays / Is there a wrong way to start a narrative essay? [14]
A narrative is basically story told from a certain person's perspective. I recently helped friend write one and I don't see a problem in opening with a question, as long as you answer that question throughout the narrative.
I also wouldn't use the word 'I' too much. Try to think of other ways of representing yourself in the essay.

Research Papers / Research paper on Commercials on TV (ideas). [12]
You could write about the gender bias typically present in tv commercials. Commercials are usually geared for specific audiences and thus contain the material necessary to hook that audience. I heard that most commercials feature dominant males... I heard something about it awhile back so you should be able to find information for it. Maybe you could make something out of that?

Essays / The Significance of Setting in "Roselily" by Alice Walker [6]
I'm struggling to write a paper on the above mentioned topic. I don't know if any of you have read it before. I just keep getting caught on the narrowing my paper down. I keep trying to explain other aspects of the story when I really need to talk about the significance of the setting! Does anyone have any experience with writing an essay about setting?
