Opportunity of a lifetime/ simply no other place ; Why NYU? [5]
#1 I decided to choose the New York Campus because I want to study in a place where people love what they do. When I visited the NYU campus in February of 2012 I was beyond amazed by the energy that the students in New York demonstrated. I felt at home and that is something really important to me since I'm moving thousands of miles from my actual home. Being in New York for those few days woke up in me a desire to aspire for more in life and I decided that I was going to take this chance because is what I truly need. Studying in New York is the opportunity of a lifetime; I can't wait to study in a place that conveys so much history and to share it with new people that will teach me a new way of life.
#2 It was April 2nd to be exact, almost midnight, the line was endless; the cold was unbearable yet I couldn't leave. As I finally entered the 86th floor of the Empire State Building, the cold stopped and a sentiment that I have never felt before filled me. I finally found the place where I wanted to become the person I dream of being. Before me truly laid the city that represents dreams and new aspirations for everybody that walks though it's streets. All of my life I've been waiting for that moment in which everything made sense and it was not until this day I finally understood were I truly belonged. This is the reason why I chose the NYU campus; there is simply no place like New York.

Winning last year's science fair; Scientific Achievement Answer- Supplement NYU [2]
One of the things that truly intrigue me in this world is science. Science has such a broad field of knowledge it never stops amazing me; the word itself derives from the word "scientia" meaning "knowledge". I discovered this passion in a very young stage of my life and my desire for experimenting and discovering new things grow every single day.
The scientific achievement I will always be proud of was winning last year's science fair. My project was titled: "Is Antibacterial Soap really Effective?" You may ask; why in the world would you question something that sells because it's been on the market for years, it was quite simple; I needed to prove this "fact". The project was based on collecting samples and then growing bacteria colonies on agar plates for several days until we could conclude if our hypothesis was correct or not.
This project will always have an emotional attachment to me because, first of all I got to do something new that derive from all of the knowledge I had gain from my summer internship in molecular biology, secondly I dragged my best friend along and being the "fashionista" that she is, making her into a "scientific nerd" for a few days was quite fun. I will never forget the day I received the news that I had won, I was simply astonished, not because I didn't believe my project couldn't win but because I forgot it was a competition. My excitement for showing the world what I had discovered overpass worrying about winning the prize.
