Undergraduate / My grandfather, the person I admire most/ Common APP [3]
If I have to choose a very important person who influenced me, I will definitely say my grandfather.
My grandfather was born in 1922 in Montevideo, Uruguay. When he was 5 years old he had to start work because his father died, so his first work was as a shoes-polisher. In that time, it was more common that children work, but in this case it was an obligation, he had to help his mother to maintain his little brother.
For that reason he could not finish his studies at primary school. But equally he was a very educated person. He enjoyed reading books, magazines or the newspaper every day. He knew a lot about history and politics.
He was exceptionally creative; he was always inventing new things for his work and life in general. He worked as a shoemaker for many years. Thanks to he was hard-working and perseverant; he could open his own business and work on his own.
He had a friendly face, but he was not very chatty. He was an honest, tolerant and fair person, who never talks bad of other people and never lies to anyone.
I admire him because he has very strong principles and he taught me that in life you must work hard to advance and always be honest.
