My wife Irina was driving me to work that day. She has just received her driver's license. She didn't see the red signal, which prohibits any traffic from proceeding, and drove through the intersection. The State Motor Vehicle Inspectorate stopped her. Ira was very afraid of losing her driver's license on the first day of driving. So she decided to bribe him. She gave him her driver's license with 1000 rubles. He quickly took that banknote and put into his pocket. Suddenly, police officer said: "Ira, you need to pay a fine for driving through the red signal". We both were confused. My wife thought that he knows her because he knows her name. She thought that maybe his child goes to the same school. She asked him about his life, his wife, kids and so on. He was confused. He tried to understand who she was. Then she told him that she had to go and would call him later. You'll never believe this, but he apologized for not recognizing us and gave back our 1000 rubles. When we had got home, I asked Ira whether she knew that police officer. Her answer was: "I can't remember him. But he knows my name, so he must know me." I started rolling on floor laughing. Then I told her that her name was written on the driver's license.
