Fresno Pacific University's motto is "Faithfulness, Wisdom, Service." How does this motto relate to your personal beliefs, experience and ideals?
"Faithfulness, Wisdom, Service"... I believe that none of these words can describe a person but can define them. Throughout my seventeen years of life I've been brought up in a Christian home and attended church every Sunday. It became a routine, something I felt like I had to do because my parents made me go and I was suppose to "believe in God". Not until I was able to have a relationship with Jesus myself, would I have faith, yearn for wisdom, and be able to service the needy people around me and not just myself. Today I am applying to this amazing college and feel lost in how I can use faithfulness, wisdom and service, but it's not stopping me from knowing why I use these characteristics and how I will continue to use them.
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. " - Matthew 17:20. This bible verse can be interpreted as many things; Faith is my interpretation. I'll admit having faith is hard at times when life throws you a curve ball; but its not about how many times you have fallen, its about how you get back up and push forward without giving up. When I as a person combine Faith and Determination, great things happen and it's all because of God.
