Undergraduate / FAILURE is my favorite word ; U Virginia - What is your favorite word and why? [2]

After hours of wracking my brain for an essay I managed to cough out a rough draft for my essay! Brutal honesty is not only welcome, but needed. Thank you all!

Failure - My Favorite Word

Failure. The word itself is the epitome of an ugly duckling in the English language. No one enjoys the deadening company of failure. The word becomes your own personal Freddy Krueger. It slices open your weaknesses and exposes it for the world to be mocked at.

I see this very curse-like word and I love everything about it.

Failure is defined as "lack of success". Many people have come to associate failure with giving up, for one gives up when one fails. But this is nothing but an illusion falsified by our own fears. Failure is simply the lack ofthe presence of success. The word emphasizes a moment or time in life when success was too shy to come around immediately. It does not mean that my attempt had totally gone to waste (although asking out my teacher to prom is a prominent out-lier in this scenario). Failure smiles and hands me a "Restart" button for me to try again. This rare opportunity to find success and earn it the next time around is why many people are unaware of the benevolent hope failure brings and sees it for its evanescent exterior vibes. Without failure, I would not be defined by my fixed mistakes and my proud accomplishments. I am damn proud to say that I have failed more than the combined failures of the light bulb prototypes by Thomas Edition and the 14 times Twilight was rejected before becoming published.

From school tests, my family's second divorce, sports injuries, death of my stepfather, procrastinating on this essay, you name it, I failed it. The brightest of the darkest, the shiniest of the dullest, failure is my favorite word because I learn from my failings and I move forward to endeavor.
