Writing Feedback / TOEFL: friends you can have fun with or those who can help you? [3]
As a kind of social animal, our human beings need attention and love from others. And so it is necessary for everyone to have some special people in life, people like parents, siblings and also the unrelated-but- still-important ones, which we called friends. From this perspective, real friends are more like family members. Of course we can have fun with them, but more than that, they are people which we can seek advice and help us out in our rough days.
Having fun may be one of the easiest things in one's life. Reading an interesting book, listening to beautiful songs, watching a hilarious movie, or just enjoy a cup of good coffee, these are delightful things we can be content with even only by ourselves. And if we really need company, there are many options as well. We can go to our parents' and have some quality times. It is also a nice choice to go to a party after work and have some fun with classmates or colleagues. And in my own experience, a few years ago I went to a bar for the first time, where I bumped into a pretty fun guy. We talked for a long time and almost everything he said made me laugh. Even a deep talk with a stranger in a bar can be a great joy, I believe that there are so many people around the world we can have fun with in a fair weather.
However, no one gets to skate through life problem-free. When we are facing problems cannot be overcome alone, it will be so glad if there are someone who guide us, help us or just be with us. After graduation, my best friend in high school and I were thousands miles apart because we went to universities in different cities. During all four years, we both had new friends and did not contact with each other frequently. But when I had problem in relationship or felt nervous about exams, she was always the first one came to my mind, and she could comfort me and enlighten me though we only talked on the phone. She has an ability to compassionately point out my problem and give me practical advice with her gentle words every time when I am facing problems, which makes me feel so lucky to have her in my life.
A friend in need is a friend indeed. This might be an old cliche, but real friends are those who cherish the friendship because they share not only happiness but also sorrow with each other and experience a lot together. People we only have fun with can be easily replaced. Those who help us in our rough days or make us feel be needed when they are facing difficult situations are friends worth to cherish for life long.
