Writing Feedback / GRE Issue Task: well-being of a country's citizens measures leader effectiveness [2]

Issue Task:

The effectiveness of a country's leaders is best measured by examining the well-being of that country's citizens.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

Prompt:

According to the author, the examination of the well-being of a country's citizens is the best measure of a effectiveness of a country's leaders. The statement holds true for contemporary world as well. Some may disagree with the author because external forces can disrupt the well-being of a country citizens despite of fact that the country is lead by an effective leadership. However, I disagree and I have substantial reasons to support my position. A few include:

First, it is crucial for a country growth that the leaders appointed have leadership qualities and problem solving skills. If a leader is ineffective, then the nation suffers. For example, Hilter showed excellent leadership at the onset, however, his rigidness caused the downfall of Germany. If he could have been complacent, then Germany would not have suffered a terrible fate. So, a country development, peace is in the hands of the nation leader.

Moreover, the rapid growth of developed countries such as, United States and China is a result of effective leadership. These countries were able to showcase growth in every sphere, for example, techonology, education, living standard. The leadership were able to understand both the country's citizens needs and the development needs. It is also evident from the lifestyle of these countries citizens that the country's leaders have left no stone unturned to be effective.

On the other hand, there are some scenario's where-in a country's citizens well-being has not been a true indicator of the effectiveness of the country's leaders. For example, Africa is still considered a under developed country and most people are below poverty line. Now, Africa has effective leaders and they have been trying their best to uplift the country status. However, the growth is not at a rapid scale as the measures adopted will take time to recover from the impact the economy had in the past years. So, a few times a country's leadership effectiveness cannot be measured wholly on the basis on well-being of the country's people.

To sum up, the effectiveness of a country's leaders is best measured by examining the well-being of that country citizens.

I will be really great if someone could point out errors/ mistakes in the above essay prompt. Any other suggestions are also welcomed.

Writing Feedback / TOEFL: In the modern world, we should never be impolite to another person. [7]

I will recommend that in the third body paragraph, the second sentence doesn't link efficiently with the first sentence. You can mention one more about "people are hard to control their tempers and may easily get annoyed". For example, a personal experience or a hypothetical one.

Writing Feedback / Same national curriculum should be studied by all the students in a nation until they enter college [3]

Issue Task:
A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.

Prompt:

Education is an important part of one's life and it is required that students get proper education before they enter college. The argument speaks in the favor of the same and states that a same national curriculum should be studied by all the students in a nation until they enter college. Some may disagree because the same national curriculum will lead to less diversity among various regions in terms of education. However, I agree with the argument and reasons for holding that opinion are illustrated in the subsequent paragraphs.

First, many students get different level of pre-college education in various regions of the world. The schools mandate studying the school-made curriculum and difference is seen in the education level for students from different schools. For example, if there is a inter-school competition which demands knowledge of subjects taught in school, then many of the participants will not able to fully answer as the subjects are not taught in depth as compared to other schools. This leads to disadvantage for some students and advantage for some. So, it is essential that all the students of a nation follow the same national curriculum.

Second, it is seen that college select students based upon their high school percentage and other extracurricular factors. There is fight amongst students to get in a reputated college. Some schools have a exacting curriculum that makes it difficult for students to score high even after working diligently. On the other hand, some schools have a facile curriculum that leads to a large number of students scoring high percentage. This creates disadvantage for students at the time of applying for colleges. However, if a same curriculum is followed across the nation, then there will be no such differences. Each student will be taught the same curriculum and the students selection in colleges will be based on their efforts in exams.

Moreover, some may say that there are schools who might not be able to teach a same national curriculum because of low finance and less resources. However, if a nation requires a same national curriculum, then it would take care of these problems and will build a curriculum that suits to all the schools in a nation.

Please review the above response for GRE Issue Task and please let me know any suggestions /corrections.
