Undergraduate / Opportunity Program / Computer Science / Last day fixes before submitting [2]
Hi, guys! I want to get into an undergraduate computer science program in one of USA colleges, but first I need to get funding for my application process. This is the motivation letter to get such funding.
Administrators of the Opportunity program want to see a sample of motivation letter that I would will send to universities and colleges.
Check this out and give me some feedback and possible corrections to make it look not so aufully bad. Thanks in advance!
On sunny winter morning of the year of 1999 something that changed my life happened. I am entering a small, well lit office and see it: positioned on the table, now omnipresent, but back in the day not frequently encountered thing. That day, for the first time, I had a chance to operate a computer. Though it was only for employees use, my mother gave me an opporunity to explore it and showed me around. That day on I found out what interests me the most.
Since then, all my adolescence was permeated with fascination of digital technology: from NES, GameBoy, and PlayStation to creation of the web sites using drafts. This interest in technical stuff largely determined the type of my personality and set of jobs that I am attracted to.
Although I had been intended to pursue a technical degree in university, life made its corrections, and I wasn't able to go to study. However, I never felt about any one of the jobs I have worked so far as about a lifetime career. I've wanted to work with computers and never gave up my dream of getting education in this field. Thanks to such wonderful, and, most important, free service as EdX, I was able to participate in massive open online courses on coding. Such courses let me get the impression and feeling what programming is. Subsequently, after some research, I made conclusion that I want to start an IT career. But I also understood that for rising above the level of a code monkey, I obviously need a thorough education in Computer Science.
Though I don't have much to boast about achievements in the field of information technologies yet, I have a project on my mind, and I intend to create a startup upon acquiring knowledge needed for its implementation. That's why I chose computer science as my future major. Incidentally, most programming-related books and documentations are written in English. Teams of software developers are also, as a rule, communicate in English. USA has the strongest IT education in the world. These are the main reasons why I'd like to get my degree exactly in America.
I'd like to conclude with the idea that every person has some set of professions best suitable for his personality. I believe that university education in computer science will let me contribute to society the maximum possible amount because my set definitely lies in the quadrant of technology-related professions.
