Undergraduate / Write about your personal and education background and what you expect from a university education [4]

I come from a well educated and respected family, which has roots all over the Indian subcontinent. My family had shifted to UAE about 17 years ago as at that time this was a booming economy. I come from a list of ancestors who have excelled ,and I men really excelled, in their various fields of expertise. Naturally, people have high expectations of me and until now I have not let them down.

My personal background is very simple to understand. I am a very down-to-earth and hardworking person. I am the sort of man who does not back down from a fight(metaphorically speaking) . I dislike reading books and novels. I love to play video games, and a video game developer would be my dream job. This doesn't mean that I am a couch potato, as I also love to play outdoor football. My main hobby is to collect coins and notes of different currencies around the world ( I have two books full of them, carefully collected and collated). I am a very organized person, and I stick to a very strict everyday routine. I guess the best way to describe me in a phrase would be in the words of my school motto, which says 'strive for excellence'

I have had a very diverse school life. I have been to three schools, joining the most recent one in Grade 8. I have experienced many different lifestyles and cultures in these schools, and I still stay in touch with my friends from my former schools. My school life wasn't the easiest all the time. There were many challenges throughout, but I kept on overcoming them. My academic scores have been consistently excellent throughout my 12 years of school, and I am determined to continue that trend in my university years.

The university that you go to after school is the stepping stone to the rest of your life, so choosing the right one is very important. I chose this university as it is one of the best in the middle east, and its engineering department is groundbreaking. This university provides all the right subjects that I would want in my major (Computer Science). I have done quite a considerable amount of research on this university, and I have found that, including academics, this university also has a wide range of extracurricular activities that I would very much be attracted to. It also has many social work and community service events. The reason I am talking about this in particular is that I haven't done enough community service as I would've liked during my school years, and I am hoping to give back to this country that has treated me so well.

I want to conclude by saying that if I do get accepted into this university I will make sure that after four years when I graduate, this university will be proud of me and my achievements and I will be honored to be called an AUS Graduate.
