Scholarship / As a petroleum engineer, I will be able to contribute on meeting mankind's energy needs [2]
I am particular applying for petroleum engineering because I believe that the program is future-oriented, and that equally satisfying, petroleum engineers gain responsibility faster and supervise important projects sooner than those in other engineering fields. Since I was a child, I have believed that energy is very important for human being and that all human activities in several fields such as communication, transportation, manufacturing, or even for our daily house hold need energy.
Realizing that energy is very important to human and that the whole process of acquiring the petroleum from deep reservoir rocks is often accompanied by large volumes of salt water with numerous impurities which must be removed for safe surface disposal, and likewise the extraction of unconventional crude oil sources such as bitumen poses even greater environmental problems, have triggered my desire to study Environmental engineering at Ardhi University. My interest to energy has made me to focus more in water and waste water treatment technologies which consequently will help the responsible organization to acquire these resources in effective and sustainable way.
After graduated from university, I looked for the opportunity to work on oil and gas sector unfortunately due to the youth of this sector at my country I didn't found one. I decided to lookout for the responsibility that will give necessary skills and experience that is needed in Petroleum Engineering field. It is by this reason i choose to lookout for Safety related job. I got opportunity to work with one of the world class contactor company Sogea Satom as a Safety Engineer assistant. The main objective of the company's health and safety was to have zero death accident and to minimize injured accident on its activities. As a Safety Engineer assistant my job was to work with Health and Safety manager in analyzing all Environmental and health hazards and its associated risks involved in everyday work activity and later to suggest as well as to implement possible ways of mitigating or reducing such risks. As un assistant i supervise the group of 25 rig crews to make sure the measures has been successfully implemented. Up to the end of the project, we didn't have the record of death accident and we achieve 15% less accidents than the previous year record.
I consider myself to study this course because I'm young, energetic, smart working, visionary and motivated person who believes that I can do something to benefit my country in future. Studying petroleum engineering not only will make my dreams comes true but also acquiring knowledge and skills needed to increase my problem solving capabilities in energy exploration sector.

Since hydrocarbons are non-renewable energy, the technology to recover hydrocarbons will be more advanced and challenging from time to time. It is the skill and knowledge that I would like to obtain from the university which has reputation of excellence in this field.
