Undergraduate / My mother's dedication inspired me to set high goals to make her proud. My international background. [NEW]

Please provide a statement that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve. You can type directly into the box, or you can paste text from another source. (250-650 words)

Hi please help with grammar and content. all comments are welcome. thanks!!

My parents grew up in Soviet Union Ukraine. My mother and grandparents told me stories of their childhood and the struggles they had to go through. Some of which included my mother learning how to sew in her early teens, due to the limited availability and high prices in stores for clothing. From multiple-hour waits in stores to buy basic products to housing dimensions limitations Soviet Union implemented policies that were supposed to close the gap between the poor and the rich. However, in reality those policies made basic needs into luxury and the state ownership turned the population into equally poor, unable to develop nation. One would imagine that with such background my mother would perceive independency of Ukraine as paradise with no further hopes and aspirations. On the contrary, she strived to get the best for my brother and me by moving to U.S. It was a giant leap into the unknown for us with a lot of challenges to come. My mother's dedication inspired me to set high goals to make her proud.

I decided to pursue higher education because my grandfather taught me to never give up in achieving goals. He went against the "culture and laws" of Soviet Union which occupied western Ukraine at that time, and got a degree. For a Ukrainian to even go to school was unheard of and caused a lot of contradictory opinions, since Ukrainian language was eliminated forcefully. However, my grandfather graduated, became an ethnography professor and published a dozen of books on the subject. His determination inspired me, and made me realize that knowledge is worth any struggles, because it is priceless.

U.S. has opportunities for everyone, however immigrants do not stand on the same equal ground as U.S born citizens. Language and cultural differences are significant factors that require time, and make immigrant students unequal and not competitive with U.S. born students. I personally had to deal with barriers of language and proving my high school testing which was a major obstacle that made me reconsider my strategy and begin from scratch. I started my education journey with community college, which gave me an opportunity to both improve my English and start getting the inside knowledge of some basic courses like economics and management. After two years of Norwalk Community College I realized that I am ready to move forward, so I transferred to University of Connecticut, Stamford Campus that opened to me the door of possibilities.

Throughout my life I have come to realize the importance of education and I strive to transfer to the most educationally conducive institution. My reasons for transferring are almost entirely academic. As my transcript shows, I have done well at both Norwalk Community College and University of Connecticut. Another reason for transferring is my desire to live in fast paced environment, like New York City, which would provide me with better networking opportunities that are important for my finance major aspirations. New York City combined with excellent professors would enhance my education and prepare me for career that would excel.

My main goal is to get the best education that combined with my determination, ability to persist and hard work would make me a successful competitive professional. In the long term I see myself either in investing banking or financial advising, helping people to determine what percentage of assets to put into different kinds of investment vehicles to obtain highest returns.

That said I do believe that higher education is a required foundation for a success that would help me face and overcome challenges. I am motivated and inspired by my family members life's to become an educated individual no matter what the obstacles are. Therefore I am eager to transfer to the outstanding school, to get the best education possible and make my parents, grandparents and school proud.

Writing Feedback / Develop countries have created many environmental problems in the world; global warming (IELTS) [2]

Environmental problems would always be a unique topic in this world. For this reason, global warming is estimated to increase significantly as a result of industrialization in many developing countries. However, the danger of this problem can be tackled by several measurements which could be done by governments and individuals.

A hustle and bustle of human activities is a major reason of the rise of greenhouse gases which trap heat from the sun. A research study has shown that the number of cars (insert the number here) that people in developed countries such as America and in developing countries such as Indonesia produce the amount of gas emissions and exhaust fumes. These gases will increase in global temperatures impact to global warming.

It is undeniable that global warming has a significant impact on our planet. Initially, rising temperature causes melting of polar ice caps, and this affects to rise in sea levels. Research studies in Cambridge University have examined that almost half of polar ice caps in Antarctica have melted, and sea levels in ocean are twice higher compared to previous years. Consequently, earth is threated by more extreme weather conditions.

Admittedly, global warming problem can be solved by some measurements. Firstly, government could introduce law emissions for factories. For pragmatic instance, some factories in Singapore should invest annually in renewable energy from solar, wind or water power that they would use regularly. Also, government could impose "green taxes" on drivers and airlines companies because they produce more pollution. While government probably enables to take some measurements, individuals should also try to be greener by reducing their habits of using car every time, and take fewer flights for holidays.

In conclusion, the danger of environmental problems enables people to take some consideration to solve it. However, it is hard to change and predict the future of our environment when there are many people still neglecting environmental problems. Therefore, this earth will be worse in the future and unable people to live comfortably.

I tried changing some of the issues. i hope I understood what you meant and helped
