I'm currently studying to take the FCE exam and
I've just written a letter of application, I was wondering if you could correct my mistakes as I don't know any natives who could
give me a hand with my pieces of writing.
Whatever the answer, thanks in advance! :)
You see this advertisement in an English language newspaper:
INTERNATIONAL BOOKSHOP REQUIRES SUMMER STAFF
-Do you like books and reading?
-Do you speak English?
-Do you have any useful experience
Dear Mr Benson:
I am writing as I wish to apply for the position of bookseller
which I saw advertised in the local newspaper. That position meets
my expectations and I would like to apply for it.
There are a number of reasons why I think I would make the ideal
candidate for you. I am nineteen years old and I have just finished
my first year at university studying literature. I am fluent in
English as I spent one year in Canada when I was younger.
In addition, I have several years' experience working in
Wal-Mart bookshop. This is advantageous as I have the knowledge and
the skills to treat with people.
Finally I would like to add that I am computer literate and
I very much enjoy reading books.
For all the reasons mentioned above I believe I would make an
excellent bookseller. It is my hope, therefore, that you would
offer me the job. I appreciate your attention to my letter and
I hope you will consider my application.
Yours sincerely
