Task 1:
The diagram illustrates the changes in the surroundings of a small local museum between 1957 and 2007. The major difference is the architecture of the whole building, whereas some areas have remained unchanged. The structure of the building was renovated, and there are new functional rooms to serve the relatively different needs of visitors.
In the year 1957, the path leading to the main entrance was partly covered by different kinds of trees. The center was designed with four main components, which refer to a local history room, a museum storeroom, and a national history exhibition.
In 2007, the museum changed considerably, most notably in the size of the main center and its restructuring layout. It was enlarged with more functional areas, such as the reception and cafe, along with the local history room. On the other side of the main building, the museum shop was newly built to sell souvenirs and gifts. Behind the history room are the two functional rooms of the museum, namely the special exhibitions and education center. This upgrade is incredibly helpful in completing the museum.
Overall, it is clear that the rise in consumer demand and the need for better service provision have led to the renewal of this museum.
