I am writing an essay about the inequality in A Thousand Splendid Suns and wanted to start the essay off with a quote.
I was hoping to find a quote relating to essay topic from a poet like Rumi or etc....

The title of the book refers to a phrase from the poem "Kabul", by the 17th-century Iranian poet Saib-e-Tabrizi. I think a line from the poem would be perfect, and here's an example;

One could not count the moons that shimmer on her roofs
And the thousand splendid suns that hide behind her walls
