Hello, I am new to this community, and i would like someone to help me think of what i can put into my thesis to make it stronger, or change it completely. I have to write an analysis on the Kate Chopin's short stories, "The Storm," and "The Story of an Hour." My goal is to think about what these two stories communicate about the author and discuss how they reflect that author. So far this is what i have written down:
"Kate Chopin was an unknown 20th century author, a lot of her work was seen as immoral, and some of her work was never published in her lifetime. Two of her works were "The Story of an Hour," and "The Storm." The text, "The Story of an Hour," is about a woman that believes her husband died in a railroad accident; on the contrary, he is alive, and Mrs. Mallard ï the woman ï dies of a heart attack at the sight of her husband. The other short story, "The Storm," is about a married woman that has an affair with an old friend, her husband was oblivious to the action his wife committed, and everyone lives a happy life. Kate Chopin, a feminist, seems to show how the main characters have a problem in the marriage when Mrs. Mallard dies from the sigh of her husband, and when Calixta has an affair with another man and everyone lives happy the rest of their lives."
The last sentence is my thesis, but i do not know why i cannot think of a stronger one, i guess i am having writers block, thank you in advance.
