GKS SCHOLARSHIP PREPARATIONS - what to write, how long?

Hi, I would like to ask for your help. I am writing a draft about personal statement. As I researched about samples, I stumbled upon this site. So anyway, this is my question;

1) Do I really need to write my essay with this pattern,
o Motivations with which you apply for this program
o Your education and work experience in relation to GKS.
o Reason for studying in Korea
o Any other aspects of your background and interests which may help us evaluate your aptitude and passion
for graduate study or research.

or I can write how I want it as long as I am able to show the required information for my personal statement?

p.s. Im preparing this early for next year, since I heard GKS annually do this. :D

As a former scholarship administrator, here are some of my general comments:
- please follow and answer each of the questions as required by the scholarship (if there is any);
- if no specific guidance question, put yourself into panel's shoes, i.e. why the panel have to choose you as the scholar?
***** why Korea & this programme (as you mentioned)?
***** why this time?
***** what are your strengths/previous experiences/education that make you excel in the field?
***** how could you contribute to this programme/college/Korea during and after the programme?
In the statement, you should also demonstrate how you are familiar with the programme and your aspiration to certain area, especially if you are applying for research position.

I believe around 600 words in English would be the best length for readers.

When considering your motivations consider 3 aspects:
- Why studying abroad in general is a good fit for you
' What academic reasons led you to choose Korea as your study destination (in relation to Korean culture exposure)
- How this decision lends itself to the future you envision for yourself

These must be presented over 3 paragraphs. These are important in the written interview so expand your reasoning as best as you can. Avoid any and all K-Pop, Hallyu, anime, cosplay, or language learning reasons for choosing Korea. Use inspired reasons such as the accomplishments of Korea in the field, a notable Korean person ( non- celebrity) or business (Samsung, LG) , or entertainment network as reference for a person or event that inspired you.

Make sure you draft your essay in bullet form first. That way you don't miss any writing aspects and can better review your response for relevance to the prompt.
