I have to write a research paper on global warming and it has to be argumentative. I need a good topic
How to write an argumentative essay about global warming? Need a good topic.
try to browse on the coppenhagen summit, I am very sure you will find a way through
Look up the Ingovernmental panel on climate change (IPCC) in google scholar or if you have access to a scholary library. Are you looking for a specific disaster? Or are you looking for the validity of global warming? Think about hurricanes, tornadoes, glacier melt, sea level rising, coastal erosion, wildfires, floods etc etc. Look at the last 30-40 years. There is a ton of things that you can write on and a lot of information out there on it. Try to stick to scientific facts from valid resoruces and stay away from the political junk. best of luck!
thank you...my topic is.."Humans should be concerned about global warming"
Controversial argumentative research thesis on global warming. Looking for a right thesis.
Hello, everyone! I need dire help narrowing down my controversial argumentative research essay thesis. My assignment is to write an eight page argument research paper on a topic that is controversial. However, I can't seem to find the right thesis to come up with. The topic I choose is on global warming which can be really broad. And so the thesis I have so far is: Man-made carbon emissions must be reduced if we want to avoid a global warming disaster, therefore, we should look to nuclear power plants for an alternative source. My professor said that my thesis is too broad still and needs to be narrowed down in order for me to have a good argument. She suggested going into talking about one problem such as the burning of coal itself. So now I'm at a road block. What should I do?
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes their time to help.

If your thesis needs you to indicate some controversial topics in terms of global warming, I suggest you to find another controversial issue partly because for me the debate over using nuclear power is a bit old.
If I were you, I would be very much interested in the connection between smartphone phenomenon and global warming; for example, narrowing down the reasons as to why people nowadays using their high-tech devices to support living green; and it is better for modern people to live back to the time without industrialised products?

Dang, when it comes to global warming, there are a number of topics that you can choose from. Charlotte is right about nuclear power being a very old topic. However, there are other energy resources that are just as controversial that you can opt to discuss. For example, you can look into how windmills are seen as the next most viable alternative energy resource by energy experts, but seen as a nature hazard by environmental conservationists.
Since windmills are fast growing in popularity as an energy resource across the world, now would be the perfect time for you to discuss this up and coming alternative energy resource in terms of its effects on the people, our planet, and global warming in general. You can discuss the research paper based on a basic outline that you can expand depending upon your need. The basic outline can include:
1. Definition of windmills.
2. History of windmill power.
3. Modern windmill power concept
4. Advantages of windmill power
5. Disadvantages of windmill power
6. Your personal stance on the issue
These are just some of the basic information that you can use to develop your argumentative research thesis. Try to present it to your professor and see if he will accept it as a topic and if he will have any suggestions for you regarding what other topics you can discuss within the parameters of your topic.
