Here is my letter of motivation for a master's degree in petroleum engineering. Please review. I would appreciate your comments and suggestions. thank you for your help

I would like to apply to the master in Petroleum engineering at Imperial College. Throughout my search and discussions with academic professionals, I came to respect the high reputation of your university and the high quality of its courses, teaching methods and staff. I have always had a passion towards science and technology. In particular, i would like to peruse a career in the petroleum industry which led me to apply to your university.

in 2007, and after obtaining a distinction in my baccalaureate exam in Algeria, i decided to continue my studies in Europe where I would enrich my knowledge with new advancements in science and technology. I chose to go to France to study engineering at the Joseph Fourier University where I studied Science engineering. It was a difficult start for me given that I had to sharpen my French language skills in order to master the different engineering subjects and compete with very talent students. My hard work paid well as I have achieved outstanding results and I was consistently ranked amounts the top 3 students in my course. these achievements helped me to be admitted in the prestigious Grenoble Institute of Technology where I am pursuing an engineering degree in mechanical engineering. during my both degrees, I have been undertaking different courses which would be very useful for a degree in mechanical engineering. these include electrical energy, hydraulics, mechanics, aerodynamics and heat transfer.

My interests in oil and gas industry started in my last year in high school when my family started a business in gas and oil transportation. Discussing day to day business with my father, i realised how gas and oil are important in our lives, how other products are produced from these two substances and how very complex engineering processes are undertaken in order to produce clean and safe energies.

I am now in my penultimate year at university and thanks to my achievements, the teaching staff has offered me the opportunity to finish my degree by undertaking an MSc course in petroleum engineering abroad. I chose to apply to Imperial College because of the extremely distinguished reputation the college has in teaching engineering. Above that, I believe that the master program I chose blends very successful teaching methods with cutting edge technology and materials. I trust that a degree from Imperial College will equip me with the tools needed to start developing my engineering career and acquire specific knowledge to succeed as a petroleum engineer

I believe that my educational background combined with my skills and experiences have set me in the right direction to start a career at your College. I have overcome many difficult situations which helped me develop great self confidence, self motivation and a willingness to learn and grow as a person. I am now looking for my next challenge; gaining a place at your highly prestigious college and start learning petroleum engineering.

I look forward to hearing from you and I do hope that you will look favourably on my application

Yours faithfully.
