Could you please review my SOP. I would really appreciate it :)

During my freshman year, I was sitting in my class juggling my way around a fairly complex C problem when my Mentor Mrs. Shobha Adey said to me: "Don't get involved in the intricacies of the language while trying to solve a problem, instead take a general approach to find solution to the problem and wrap your solution around the syntax.". I was intrigued by what she said and when I dwelled into her comments, I realized that the problem had become fairly simple. That was the first time I found my interest drifting towards Computer Science.

As my approach towards the subject changed, my predisposition towards the subject increased. I was amazed by the fact that something that today enraptures the whole world and is indispensable in the current scenario is so simple at its foundation and yet so powerful. My interest for Computer Science was also reflected in my results where I topped my school in 12th Board Exams.

My flair for Computer Science led me to opt for Computer Science in my bachelor degree at Graphic Era University, one of the most prestigious deemed universities in India. During my Bachelor's Degree, I got an opportunity to get in acquaintance with the various domains of Computer Science Subject. Data Structure and Algorithms, Operating System, Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence were few of the areas which captured my attention. My inquisitive nature led me dig deeper into the subjects and gain clear understanding of them. During the 4 year programme, I participated in various CS competition held at inter and intra college level. I along with some of my friends organized a C Competition at Intra college level which gained 1000+ students participation. I also gave NIIT National IT Aptitude test and secured 667th rank among 73k+ student who took the exam.

During my 7th semester I was given an opportunity to do my internship from Infosys. We underwent a rigorous training where we learned a couple of technologies within a span of 4 weeks. The training not only enabled me to get a broader perspective of few technologies but also provided a deeper understanding of the core programming fundamentals and practices. As a final part of this training, I was able to develop a project of a Tutorial Web Site using Microsoft Silverlight on a framework which I had never even worked on within a span of 20 days. It was due to my deeper insight, determination and my Mentor's guidance that I was able to grasp the complications of the new XAML language within a short span of time.

After completing my graduation with distinction from Graphic Era University, I felt the need of gaining some practical experience in the IT World. I got job offers from Infosys and Accenture and I decided to go with the former because of my wonderful experience during the internship. In Infosys, I worked under Cloud Unit in Microsoft track on SharePoint Platform. I got a chance to work on SharePoint 2013 development portal and currently I am working on a migration project from lotus notes to SharePoint 2010. The project required to migrate data from one platform to another and to completely rebuild the application in another platform in some cases. The project has helped me strengthen my NET, JQuery skills and realize the importance of team work.

Though I didn't get to work on any Cutting Edge projects, my current project turned out to be challenging at times and I have really enjoyed my journey so far. The Undergraduate study and the corporate experience provided me a broader perspective of the subject, but eventually I realized that I was not content with the routine procedures. I also realized that if I want to work in challenging technologies, I need to have a thorough understanding of the subject. These factors have augmented my conviction of pursuing graduate program in order to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the subjects and live up to my dreams.

Through the Master's program, I plan to further explore my interest areas which I confronted during my Bachelor's program. I am particularly interested in Distributive computing. My other areas of interest also include Network Security and Artificial Intelligence. Although Distributed Computing was not a part of our college curriculum, my acquaintance with this field came via my confrontation with Bit torrent. I was fascinated with the way the protocol worked and so decided to dig deeper which ultimately led me to Distributed computing. Later I presented it as a seminar topic in College. Though I didn't get a chance to pursue this field during my corporate experience, I really wish to opt it as my career.

I understand that you are one of the premier college for Computer Science. Based on the information available on your site, I am sure that high quality education, superlative methods of teaching and the best competitive environment has led me to pursue admission in your university. I believe that studying in such a challenging academic will help me to reach my true potential. I especially look forward to pursue my MS under the guidance of Professor Anish Arora whose work on Distributed and Networked System, I found extremely exhilarating and close to what I wish to pursue as the research component of my MS Degree. With my sound academic background and my unquenchable thirst for knowledge, I assure you that I will stand up to the high standards of your university.

Computer Science has touched everyone's life in a way or the other. Though the exponential growth made in this field has been phenomenal, it has also provided us with new and formidable challenges. I aspire to be the part of the environment that will give me opportunities to cope with the challenges and to be able to contribute by doing substantial work.

A statement of purpose, yet it reads like a narrative essay from the opening sentence. I also think quoting a professor like that is rather unoriginal and a bit boring.

In regards to the second paragraph, the second sentence is so full of cliched expressions that it has hardly compelled me to want to read any further.

I think a revision is necessary. Address your interests in Computing from the beginning, and perhaps explain where this interest comes from and give concrete examples as well.
