Network Security is a matter of utmost importance to everyone. Our entire lives are based on the presumption that our data is secure, and our actions are confidential--this is hardly the case. Security is regarded as a one-way problem, where the most important thing is securing your own machine against attack-- when in reality; one weak node could comprise the entire network. The need to secure a system, application or website is imperative in today's world. We are seeing so many security breaches like Lulz Security attacks, Sony Play Station hacking, which are due to the result of poor network security. My strong programming skill and excellence in mathematics will be best utilized in the field of computer science field, and this makes me want to create an application or website with solid, unbreakable security.

I maintained a good scholastic record right from my schooling. I achieved a good rank in state level entrance exam for under graduation where i stood in top 4% among one lakh applicants and secured a seat in Information Technology in Maturi Venkata Subba Rao Engineering College(MVSREC) affiliated to Osmania University. My undergraduate coursework made me well versed with a broad knowledge base and helped me in gaining firm fundamentals in computer science.

With the knowledge gained through my courses, I worked on projects like 'Independent Database Interaction'. I was successful in achieving the project objective of developing a tool which is a Database Plug-in to connect to multiple databases. This plug-in facilitates the developer to interact with back end in a similar way irrespective of the database used and a Web based application for 'Inventory Management System', which included a database in the back end and a user interface developed using web technologies. Each of these mini-projects gave me a practical insight into developing applications, at the same time, enabling a better understanding of the concepts studied in the course.

I stood in top 1% among 1,30,000 applicants in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)2011, the most prestigious examination conducted by IIT's and IISC towards admission for graduate studies in India's reputed universities. I won best Paper Presentation Award for the topic on "Desktop Virtualization" in the annual national level technical symposium "SAMAVARTHAN" organized by our college.

My interest in Network Security and Programming started when i attended an Ethical Hacking Training Programme conducted by Ankit Fadia a renowned Cyber Security Expert from India. With the training I came to know about various things like Honeypots, Dos Attacks, IP Spoofing etc. With the knowledge gained through training i did a research project 'An Effective Defense Against Distributed Denial Of Service in grid' where project objective is to filter IP Spoofed Packets based on Hop Count filtering scheme. In college, I gave a seminar on a research paper "Pass Pattern System" which is One Time Password system that gives protection from most of the attacks like keyloggers, shoulder surfing etc.

After my college, I believed that in order to be aware of current industry standards, and to expand my knowledge base, I needed to have a work experience in this ever-changing field. I started my Professional Career with xxxxx as QA Engineer. My role involves developing a java selenium automation testing framework. The project became viable and successful in cutting down manual effort drastically for every release. We also organize a lot of seminars and technical discussions on the latest technologies and events. I had been an active participant in the events which helped me keep up with the latest happenings in the industry. I delivered presentations on latest technologies like HTML 5, Semantic Web. As i am working in an Internet based company, I came to know the practical implementation of Networks and Security.

During my tenure at xxxx, I observed security breaches like Cross Site Scripting and a Spam attack which comprised 78K Email accounts. They used botnets for this attack and started spamming with the compromised accounts. This incident learnt me many things and strongly motivated me to pursue a research career in Security Domain.

I believe that the process of learning continues at every stage of life. Having learnt the fundamental principles of computer science, I would like to strengthen, deepen and widen my knowledge of computer science, by pursuing graduate studies. I personally believe that the graduate degree ought to take on a transitional journey from being a knowledge-bearer to a knowledge-generator. This is the time where one should get a good flavor of research, independent thinking, time and resource management, generating new ideas with existing knowledge base, come up with logical hypotheses and test them, apply knowledge to synthesize, etc.

The course structure and research at UNIVERSITY NAME seems to most parallel my interests. I believe that the highly qualified faculty, research facilities of your esteemed University would be of enormous help in my quest for research. I am aware of the determination and perseverance needed for

a successful career in research. I am confident that with my strong grasp of fundamentals in various courses of computers, more than a couple of years of industry experience and a zest for challenges, I will be able to make important contributions to the academic society.

Finally I take this opportunity to thank you for enabling me to express myself and I look forward for my admission into the graduate program of your esteemed university.

the content is good. But I think you should stress more on the reason you apply, what you learned from your experience and your career goals. You move most of your experience to your CV. Just making a list of what you do makes no sense because statement of purpose have to tell the "purpose".
