Born in poor family and developing country, made me to understand the consequences of poverty and illiteracy in my very young age. I remember, when I was about nine years, I told myself "I should study hard to help my family and relatives". In my teenage I released that, it is not only my family suffers from the poverty but also my whole community, therefore the burden of helping my family shifted to the whole community. My desire to help my community drove me to found the way of fulfilling it. Therefore when I was seventeen years old, I joined in Non-Governmental Organization called XXXas Member and Volunteer and three year (in 2007) after, I was appointed as Treasurer of Organization. I was intrigued by the amount of work and effort that was put into running a daily activities like preparation organization budget, recording the books of accounts, bank reconciliation, facilitating entrepreneur workshops and others activities of helping society. These experiences influenced so much to acquire the knowledge of Finance and Accounts, therefore I planned to Increase effort in subjects that could ultimate enhance to pursue Accounting and Finance at higher education.
Work as treasurer at XXX gave me several opportunity to meet with small entrepreneurs and attending several entrepreneurship workshops. Two training which I will never forget were Youth Entrepreneurship Facility Project Design (organized by International Labour Organization) and Training on Grant Management (Organized by Foundation for Civil Tanzania). I realized there is need of strong elites with entrepreneur, business skill and finance in order to help group of small entrepreneur of Tanzania. Also my third year research at Mzumbe University accelerated a need to increase my understanding in Finance and business subject. My research which was targeting to come out with factors contributing the small and medium entireness (SMEs) to fail to pay their loan, I found that among the factors which contributing poor loan repayment by SMEs is lack of business management skills. Also the recent studies shows that heathy SME sector contributes prominently to the economy through creating more employment opportunities, generating higher production volumes, increasing export and introducing innovation. Therefore these factors drive me so much to increase my expertise and skill in Finance and Accounting can help to reduce the gap expert of Finance and Accounting in my country. All of these and knowledge of Accounting and Finance I was acquired at University in my first Bachelor Degree have influenced to scale up my skill of Accounting and Finance by Opening the New NGO called UUU and I serve as chairperson since 2014 update. Therefore I need to increase my knowledge in order to help my society as leader.
When I was at University I enjoyed financial accounting, Cost and management accounting and international accounting. Due to my personal interest of these courses were among subjects I done very well. And also enjoyed practical training of application of courses by conducting the several workshop at XXXto help Small Entrepreneurs to have skills on financial management and book keeping, because the Small Entrepreneurs in Tanzania have low skills on financial management ad book keeping.
My work experience at XXX, ZZZ, and YYY both in Tanzania really reinforced my desire to study Accounting and Finance. It gave me a fascinating insight into how accountant and financial managers have significantly role in successful of any business enterprises. The highlight was writing books of accounts, preparation of financial report, bank reconciliation, preparation of payroll and I gained valuable skills in communication and interaction with others in a working environment. I was particularly intrigued to know more about the connections between different teams. I am currently working at and UUU as a chairperson, although I am highest leader of Organization the previous work and experience have made me to conduct my current position effectively and efficiently.
The next step for me, I look forward to being introduced to new academic and social challenges as well as experiencing European culture at Stockholm School of Economics. I choose Stockholm School of Economics because of their one of Europe's leading business schools, with a unique business-community network, excellent teaching methods, college atmosphere and multicultural university. Once I finish my studies I would like to return in my country and to proceed serve as chairperson of UUU and develop several entrepreneurship training and workshops to help my country at large scale.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, swimming, preaching and I am also a keen footballer, having played for various school teams.
