The more "criminal" of the two writing style: Cliched and Cheesy vs Boring?

What do you hold as the more "criminal" of the two writing style?

1) Cliched and Cheesy...
2) Boring

I personally would go for boring than cheesy pieces of writing. If I write something and it sounds cheesy, I try to rewrite it and if it's without a success, I throw it out. But boring, if it is written with good diction/syntax but a boring approach, I can forgive it :-P

I'm more of a cheesy writer, it's just something I can't help.
Though, with the proper syntax and diction even the cheesiest of essays can become wonderful.

If it's a research paper, it'll be boring though, it all depends on the type of paper you're writing.

Boring makes comprehension difficult and hurts the reader's brain. Cheesy an cliched can at least entertain. If something was cliched and cheesy but not boring, it must have been cool in some way.

So.. boring is definitely worse, in my opinion. Something that is boring but not cheesy is still boring, but something that is cheesy but not boring is okay.

Boring is definitely more criminal. You do not want to loose the reader's attention. If it is a little cheesy, it can't be helped but at least the reader would not put it away.

Boring essays are hands down, are the most criminal. You lose personality and the individual with a straight-laced paper. I have to agree with EF_Kevin, at least cheesy can be entertaining. Besides, if it is outrageously cheesy, it'll stand out!
