Hey! I really like the idea, it is a very creative way of answering the question. I think your essay is great, however, keep in mind that the admission officers want to know more about you. I would go more into detail. idk.

But still, I think this writing would really be appealing how it is :)

I liked your theme of challenging yourself with cold water. However, for me, the second paragraph made a stronger impact. Thus, I think you should consider it more for an opening. Additionally, I also like the way you combine the Myth of Sisyphus with your theme; however, I do think there needs to be more explanation about the character or book overall you are referring to in order to get the whole picture of Sisyphus like yours in the shower (although not as extensive as your own experience). Finally, I was waiting for more elaboration in the explanation of the outcome of your daily sacrifice with the water. I think with the few first paragraphs I already got the idea of your challenge with the water, so then you should move to explaining more you starting the programming club (which I think is important), or perhaps intrinsic outcomes as well.

I found the warm or cold metaphor really interesting. Also "...push myself into the frozen rain. A blast of icy water hits me" feels a bit redundant.
