Writing Feedback / The amount of 4 different types of food that were consumed in a European nation in 25 years [3]

food consumption in europe

The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make relevant comparisons.

The provided line graph illustrates the amount of 4 different types of food that were consumed in a European nation in 25 years from 1979 to 2005.

In general, fish was stably used at the lowest level during this 25-year period. Besides, there was a significant decrease in the consumption of beef and lamb, whereas that of chicken showed the contrasting state.

In 1979, it can easily be seen that fish was the least commonly eaten food, which was consumed at about only 60 grams per person weekly. Contrastingly, the most preferred meat in this year was beef, which accounted for the amount of 220 grams that was nearly four times higher of fish consumption. The figures for chicken and lamb were lower that of beef, at about 140 grams and 150 grams respectively.

During 25 years, the country witnessed a fluctuating decrease of beef and lamb, which resulted in the considerable drop in the statistics of these food's consumption. The beef was consumed about 100 grams per person while the figure for lamb was 50 grams in 2004. In contrast, the amount of chicken consumed continuously increased to 250 grams and became the most eaten food compared to the others. Although fish showed its slight decrease from over 50 to under 50 grams in 25 years, this was still the most stably consumed food in the nation.

Writing Feedback / [IELTS] A line graph of books read by both sexes in certain years. Academic one. [5]

My recommendation is that you should use past simple tense for the past event description.
It's also necessary to look carefully at the graph before you write the essay. Since your writing is pretty good, the misunderstanding of the line colors may destroy your efforts in the test.

Hope you find this helpful!
