Undergraduate / Waterloo's health science, software engineering and the business and computer science program - AIF [2]

Reasons for choosing your program and Waterloo

Please tell us about your educational goals, your interest in your chosen program(s), and your reasons for applying to the University of Waterloo. If you have applied to more than one program please discuss your interest in each program. (900 character limit)

I applied to Waterloo's health science, software engineering and the business and computer science program to develop skills necessary for my future as a health professional. I love the idea of cooperating with like-minded individuals to enhance both the health prevention and health treatment sectors of healthcare through means of software or policies. Waterloo's abundance in clubs and its small classes allow me to build strong connections with peers and professors. The diverse electives in the pre-clinical specialization lets me concentrate on medicine while also having extra health paths open. I look forward to learning more on underlying lifestyle health risks in the HLTH 458 course. Additionally, Waterloo's velocity program, alongside the business and programming skills I will gain, is the base I require to launch my idea of an improved health diagnosis system. (878 characters)

Does this seem to show my interest? I see others wrote their life story for this question and I don't know if I should do the same or not.

Also, does this sound robotic (in terms of diction and tone)?
I am open to all suggestions.

Thank you!

Undergraduate / Why engineering? My application to the University of Waterloo (Admission Information Form) [5]

Yes, as Holt mentioned above, your entire passage is just a flashback. Although it does bring some insight behind your reason in applying for biomedical engineering, you should summarize the reason into one or two sentences instead. In your case that an event is your source of inspiration, be sure to emphasize on what you learned from the event.

You should focus on your goals (be specific) and how Waterloo can aid you in the process. For example, you can list a specific course you are interested in taking, a specific professor you want to learn from, certain clubs you want to join etc. Show Waterloo that you did research on their program. Ensure your reasons are specific to Waterloo and not so generic that they can be applied to any other biomedical engineering program.
