Scholarship / Korea Trip - GKS - Language Study Plan [3]

Hi I really need help with this, please let me know if it's missing anything and what should I improve/change

PROMPT

Study plans to improve Korean/English language ability required for taking a degree course before and after you come to Korea.

Despite the fact that English is not my first language, I have been fluent in understanding and speaking English since middle school. I have been fortunate to study in an institute where English is the official language of instruct. However, there's always room for improvement. English plays a vital role for me to understand and learn Hangul and I am determined to make maximum use of it.

I plan to start studying Korean Language by myself before I enter Korea. The first few weeks of self-study would let me understand my strengths and weaknesses regarding a language learning process which in return would help me create a timeline. The internet has a vast variety of teaching tools and serves as a great medium in terms of self-study. Upon research, I found out Coursera offers a variety of detailed Korean Language Courses from prestigious universities in South Korea. I intend to enroll in them and start studying the language beforehand. Quizzes are a great opportunity for me to test my learning. I aim to solve sample TOPIK papers and take the online placement test at King Sejong Institute to examine myself. These courses and quizzes will help me be accustomed to read and write the Hangul alphabets, the syntax and basic pronunciations so I am prepared for what's going to come next for me. I am determined to pass the intermediate level before I start my official language course.

As soon as I start my language programme in Korea, I will be studying extra hours by myself along with the regular classes. Aiming for detailed and effective ways is my top priority. Learning a language becomes relatively easy if you converse with the locals from time to time. Short conversations with local Koreans and my college mates will help me pick up the accent quicker and easier. As webtoons are a great source of entertainment, I'll use them to read in both English and Hangul. This way it'll improve my vocabulary. Being able to read and write is comparatively easier than hearing a local talk, for that I plan to listen to Korean podcasts with subtitles. Working with both languages simultaneously would help me improve my hearing skills as well as speaking skills. My goal is to reach TOPIK level 5 by the end of the first six months so I can immediately start my undergraduate degree.

Undergraduate / A world full of global warming, war and depleting resources - GLOBAL KOREAN SCHOLARSHIP [3]

Hi, I'm no expert. But since as a reader i really like the content, you've put into this essay. However, I spot quite a lot of grammatical and structural issues with the writing. I hope you could go through that and review all the mistakes. The content displays your determination. I'd say you could change the writing into a more fluent one and then it'll be good to go. Goodluck, I hope you make it

Essays / Is it necessary to title our Personal Statement? [4]

I personally don't think you do require a title since personal statement is a combination of quite a lot of different prompts and it wouldn't be easy to pick up one for the name. However, just check with the instructions whether they require it or not. Have a great day
