Scholarship / Studying in Flinders - How did you choose your proposed course and institution? [3]
I choose bachelor in disabilities and developmental inclusive education studies because it fits my current profession as an expert patient counsellor. I provide counselling to PLHIV and Key Population, also assist health workers and clinic staff to provide ART treatment and health education to clients and patients.
People with disability include those who have long term physical, mental, intelectual or sensory imparment which in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society on equal basis with others. Helping clients navigate through their challenges, working towards a better future; witnessing their progress and growth is a profoundly rewarding experience for me. My sense of personal experience and desire to make a difference in the life of an individual with disability motivates me to pursue extra skills and knowledge to become a qualified proffesional by acquiring a degree to become a positive behaivor support practioner, developmental educator, behavioral specialist or a developmental disabilities case manager.
Flinders and Australian catholic universities are the only two CRICOS institutions that are offering bachelor in disabilities inclusive education studies in Australia. Flinders university is ranked 247 in the world and is in the top 20 list of Australian top universities while it's eligible applicant requirement also supports my academic achievements.
Studying in Flinders university will add to my credentials of my value to potential employers and organizations under provincial health, national department of health and donour partners in Papua New Guinea.
