3 Quotes To Describe
College Essays are only read once, so 3 minutes on average. I have come across 3 quotes in life which have stuck with me till now, I believe that these 3 quotes in some way describe who I am, they are what my gravestone would say if I become someone famous. Except this, I would like to share one other incident, the incident which forever changed my life. The story of how I was accused of murder.
"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending, Carpe Diem."
Every morning, I wake up and look at the calendar and see another day lost, and every morning I promise to make that day count. I believe life to be an hourglass, with the sands pouring down fast. This instills a whimsy with the way I live, There were times that I grabbed my friends in the middle of the night for a road trip, destination? To get a good cup of tea from comilla 70km away. The night before my SAT exam I spent half of it away singing along to Coldplay covers at a concert. I do all I can to live life like it was meant to be lived, so that sometime in the future I can look back and say, no regrets.
"Music is food for the soul"
Music is my passion, I listen to everything, from the blaring guitar works of Megadeth to the soothing tones of Tagore's songs. Through the kaleidoscope of different memories one of them strikes out clearly in my mind, I was strumming my guitar randomly with a friend after a talent show. After singing a few well known tracks I started singing one of my own compositions which I wrote after a recent break up. That was the first time I saw someone welling up from listening to a song, the emotion in her eyes were real, it showed the effect music can have in a person's life. When asked what I want to be in life I always say engineer or business tycoon, if those two does not work out, street musician.
"It is better to be a free crow, than a caged parrot"
I have always been fiercely independent. My earliest memories consist of sneaking away from home to play football in the rain only to come back home to get scolded my mom. Both my parents worked 9 to 5 jobs so me and my brother practically took care of ourselves. When I was 16 I wanted to pay for my own expenses so I started tutoring before joining a tourism company. Going to college is another way to be independent. I want to live abroad, meet new people, learn new things, fall in love, achieve success, witness and experience things I never dreamed off. I want to see the world for all it has to offer. And then some.
P.s. I was never accused of murder, every story must have suspense, right?
