Undergraduate / Would it be a bad idea to use this topic for Common App Essay #1 or #5? [7]

I was thinking about writing about how I was secretly ridiculed by friends and classmates because of my appearance during 7th-9th grades and how it prompted me to basically include everyone, treat everyone with kindness, like a friend, etc. or does that have a huge potential to turn into a boring essay topic? I was never physically tormented by my peers, just verbally or in the case of my "friends", behind my back. I have come out of the situation a stronger person but I don't know if this is a heavily overused topic or one that would require an extreme amount of effort to capture attention from admissions officers or even one that could suggest that I'm using the "woe is me" card? Someone I asked said it would sound incredibly immature. After he said that, I went back and read what I had so far and figured that it did kind of sound like how he said. I would like more feedback though and possible suggestions for a better topic to write about for either essay #1 or #5.

Thanks.

Okay, thanks. So compared to the essay topic above and this new topic I was thinking about (how I was placed in the fastest heat of the 400m dash in track by my coach despite me being a triple jumper, how I persevered through it, and what I learned about myself even though the race didn't end in my favor) which one would you suggest? I already started writing the essay for the topic I mentioned previously and I didn't intend to have the bullying/ridiculing be the bulk of my essay as opposed to the growth and character traits I attained from the experience. Not sure if it would be a good idea to scrap that essay or just keep it for now, but write a sample for the second essay and compare the two to determine which would be stronger/more compelling?

Oh okay, cool, so should I still use topic number 1, which would be evaluate a significant event, ethical dilemma, or risk you have taken etc. but just used what I learned from a specific instance during one of my hobbies and write about that?

Or use a different focus to write about one of my hobbies?
Thanks for your suggestion! :)

Undergraduate / 'The Seeker' - Common App - University of Michigan #2 [3]

I like your essay and all, but when you are describing the campus are you talking about the UMich campus as a whole or the campus of the specific school to which you're applying to? From what I understood of the prompt, they want the applicant to discuss/describe/elaborate on the specific qualities of the school/college of Umich that you are applying to (assuming they mean qualities of certain programs, majors, honors and residential college, or even the music programs) that convinced you to apply and not just about the school in general.

I hope I wasn't too harsh but I was just making sure that you know exactly what they want you to answer in that prompt.
