I spent many hours trying to find that "perfect" college or university that I knew would help prepare me for a successful future. Through the many pamphlets, emails, and letters I received, I began to draw interest into one particular university; Carnegie Mellon. Carnegie is a university of tradition but also a university known for going beyond cultural and intellectual boundaries that allow their students to express themselves and find their opportunity to thrive. The fact that Carnegie Mellon goes beyond the norm, with its diversified population of students and faculty, a student to faculty ratio that is beneficial to any undergraduate, a surrounding environment and community that provides opportunity, and the focus of giving every student the chance to experience every aspect of college; was something that really intrigued me. I truly feel that Carnegie Mellon is the "perfect" university for me.

As for my interests, which happen to be Business Administration and Economics, my goal is to combine these two interest into one culminating effort to start and succeed in running my own business. My interest in Business Administration was something that I always knew I wanted to major in college. I am interested in Business Administration because I like the opportunity to be a leader and in charge, as well as having the opportunity to run things on my own and be independent. My interest in economics developed recently. In my junior year, my math teacher and I discussed my course placement for senior year. I told her how I planned to major in Business Administration. She advised that the best option and choice for me was to take Statistics. I thought about it and talked it over with my counselor. After several weeks of contemplating, I decided to sign up for the class. Having the class now, I am glad I chose to take it because it gives me insight about probability, distributions, and survey methods that I can use in the future to help my company.

I feel that Carnegie Mellon is the "perfect" university to acquire an education where I am able to combine my interests for Business Administration and Economics. At the Tepper School of Business, a business school of high reputation, I will be able to challenge my mind and widen my global horizon of business whether it is taking a class on the core essentials of a business, becoming hands-on within the community in a local organization, or having the opportunity to study abroad in Spain or Australia. The idea of being a part of the "Management Game" and allowing students to learn all aspects of business through teamwork and leadership, while also focusing on one main track of business, provides its students the ability to succeed in all fields. To tie into the study of Business Administration, the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences allows me to connect what I learn at the Tepper School and the course of Economics. The Dietrch College of Humanities and Social Sciences gives students the chance to explore all fields and skills. A Bachelor of Science degree in Economics will fundamentally prepare me to analyze challenges and identify solutions that may be crucial to the success of a business, as well as, help to predict and analyze human behavior. The knowledge I obtain from the Dietrch College of Humanities and Social Sciences, I hope to use whether it is through community service through a community organization, an internship, or studying abroad in Hong Kong. I believe that a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics or a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration will provide me with insight and preparation for any job in the future and to be a successful individual.

Whether it is studying Economics at the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences or Business Administration at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie is the "perfect" university for me because that is where I will thrive and create my future.
