Undergraduate / Finding about me, if you're interested and have nothing better to do [2]

Prompt #1: Describe the world you come from - for example, your family, community or school - and tell us how has your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

The world I come from... I am from America, New Jersey to be exact. Unfortunately, the way I describe my life, currently, is that school basically revolves around me, for the most part. Though it is the summer, I'm taking courses and I'm trying hard in my program. My school impacts me in many different ways. I attend one of the top public schools in New Jersey which makes the majority of the kids smart. There's competition within my school, even though it is a public school. Parents want their kids to move to my town to receive the kind of education I receive. School is depressing at times but I know i have to struggle in order to reach the pinnacle. It's difficult to stand out when the majority of the kids get the same grades as you or when they do better than you. Enough with school and my sorrow in it, I will talk about the more joyous things in life that keep me motivated and keep me from dreading myself too much.

I enjoy, singing, dancing, art, music, fashion, makeup, ice skating... The list goes on. I may seem like a typical girl who likes to do girly things and that's because I am. I'm not ashamed of it, even though most of you reading this may look down on it or find it soporific. When I am not stressing about academics, I like to feel alive. I seek adventure and I try to make memories that will last a life time. Yes, every one enjoys spending time with their friends, as do I. I think people are interesting and they give other people innovative ideas about anything whether it be ideas about changing their fashion style or opening someone's eyes to a different philosophy.

This leads me to the next topic: introversion. When I'm not busy with school or something as useless as makeup, I am thinking all the time. I enjoy learning about philosophy, psychology, and anything in relation to those examples. Because I think so much, I start to wander inside my brain and this strikes most people because they think I'm angry or antisocial. I didn't know what being "introverted" meant until this year. I discovered that I'm dominantly introverted. This topic intrigued me, so I watched several youtube videos on introverted and extroverted people. I was so fascinated because it deals with psychology and it's something that makes me feel connected. I didn't know that there was a word that described as well as "introverted" did. When I watched these videos, I said "that's me". Apparently, about 25% of the population is introverted and it has increased over the years up to 50%.

I love finding about people, understanding them and why they behave the way they do. There are just so many different types of people in the world along with various types of personalities. When I think, I can feel a part of my brain light up because I'm that excited. When people talking, I find myself observing and taking mental notes inside my head. Even though I'm really outgoing and love to be with people, at the end of the day, I need to "recharge" as most introverts do. I find it necessary to leave time for myself and be alone. I don't want to go off onto a tangent about introverts because that is not why I'm writing this. I'm just trying to give some insight about introverts in case you did't know about them.

I've talked about a few things of myself, of course there is more, but overall, I think I've captured some important things.
