Can someone correct my essay?
I'm not sure if my essay is good enough..
o Your course of life, your view of life, study background, your hopes & wishes, etc
o Your education and work experience, etc., in relation to the KGSP program
o Your motivations for applying for this program
o Reason for study in Korea
My name is Monita Dwi Nuraeni from Indonesia. I was born in April 1993 in Sumedang, a small town in West Java, and still live there until now. I grew up as second child of a big-sized family with 6 siblings. I had been living together with my parents before I entering college. But it has been 4 years since I lived apart with my parents and now I live together just with my younger sister. I meet my parents about 3 times a year. It makes me become more independent and responsible because I not only have to take care everything by myself but also have to be a guardian for my younger sister who I live with.
Education has become part of my life. Most of my family members is an educator. My grandparents used to be a teacher, my aunt is a middle school teacher and my father is a lecturer at an university. Moreover, I live in educational environment where there are many universities such as Institute of Public Administration, Padjadjaran University and Bandung Institute of Technology. Live in an educational environment makes me consider education as an important thing in my life and motivates me to get higher education. For career, I want to working in the field that related to education, become a teacher and sharing my knowledge onto the future generation or work in the ministry of education to contribute in improving the quality of education in Indonesia.
To pursuing my big dream, it's requires big effort. So I studied really hard for my education. I took a total 17 years to complete my education from primary school to bachelor degree. I spent 12 years in my primary and secondary school. For my bachelor, I spent 5 years in computer science education major at Indonesia University of Education. During my college years, I studied hard about pedagogy and computer science. I enjoy to learn new things so I learn English and Korean language by myself through books. I also joined non-academic organization at my first 2 years in college to improve my social skill. In 2014, I had an opportunity to teaching computer in vocational school for 4 months. I realize that teaching is my passion. It's fun to teach and help other people understand about something.
I am interested to continue a master degree in Educational Administration to expand my knowledge about education. I was determined not to burden my parent so I looking for a scholarship. I prefer to study abroad because I want to become more independent by trying to live abroad. It is also a chance for me to experience different styles of education. Then I found information about KGSP and interested to apply this scholarship. I know a little about Korea since I learn its language and culture. Koreans are very proud of their country and has a high sense of nationalism. It is makes me curious about Korean education system, what they have learnt at school and how they maintain its culture. Moreover, just like Indonesians, Koreans are a warm and generous people. So I believe that I will have no problems living in Korea.
Last but not least, I would like to quote "Education is not preparation for life. Education is life itself" by John Dewey. I believe that wherever I am, I have to continue to learn as long as I life.
