Undergraduate / Topic to write on (RIC undergrad admission) [5]

Discuss a intellectual or cultural interest and how it relates to your desire to attend Rhode Island College.

or choose your own topic. I would like to stick with there prompt, but I may be a total idiot but I cant seem to brainstorm anything usable from the topic. Cultural seems out for me but intellectual? I want to go there for pre-med and biology in hopes to apply to medical school. I've tried to use medical topics for the intellect but don't get too far.

Also, it only needs to be 250 words... I mean what could I even get out in that.

Letters / "the fast food industry" - english assignment [4]

I think I would omit the skin disorder... and also don't be afraid to step away from the crowd think about what makes you different in a positive way from everyone else... maybe you have lots of compassion and patience.

Undergraduate / Topic to write on (RIC undergrad admission) [5]

I'll be totally upfront. I am a horrible writer as far as putting things in the write format. I can write as good as I can talk your ear off but I don't know how to pick a topic that tells about me. The prompt RIC has is an awful one about how your heritage relates to you wanting to go to RIC and I cant find the connection between that let alone my own heritage. So the only other option is to write on a topic of my choice (500 words or less)

A little about me. I am a young adult professional. I hold two certificates in health care. I work directly with patients in different settings; nursing homes, rehabs, assisted living. I am a workaholic so I don't have much free time to see friends or go places. A normal day in my life would take place at work... one hour I can be passing medications to patients and the next be in the middle of a code blue on a patient with a trach.

I think it should be easier to write about my work but I don't know if a 250-500 word essay if I can explain and fit in all this medical jargon that I don't even know if the admissions committee will appreciate.

Anybody have any ideas? Or an I just missing the big picture here.

Undergraduate / Very short response to Brown supplement [8]

I am openly gay and I see where your going with this and I back you up. It's just at first glance I'm trying to peace together what going paperless and being gay have in common. My bank is going paperless but just because I'm gay doesn't mean I'm going to get my deposit done any faster.

No offense meant, keep going with it. Expand on your idea. Good Luck.

Student Talk / What's the biggest writing fail in your writing? [26]

One of my worst fails was when my class was prompted to write in first person about our summer (this was 5th grade remind you) and I thought first person meant using words as if you were talking... ohhh yeeaauh. "So then we went to the store and stuff and I was like ohmahgod look at that, isn't that like mad cool and stuff... for real check that stuff out like oh yeah".

I know it sounds like a youth mistake but I was so embarrassed when she read it in from of the class.

Essays / Choose your own topic essays? [9]

When you choose your own topic, do you have to include your essay topic question in the actual essay, or do you just write it without stating your topic...
