Writing Feedback / Car-free days or other ways to reduce air pollution. [4]

Topic: Some people think international free-car days are an effective way of reducing air pollution, others think there are some other ways. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

long-term plans and solutions for clean environment

Air pollution has become an issue of broad interest to the general public. Some people believe international car-free days are essential in limiting air pollution level. Others claim that various different measures should be applied. As far as I am concerned, a variety of ways should come into effect rather than only car-free days are introduced.

On the one hand, days without automobiles bring about certain benefits to the environment. As we all know, cars play a crucial part in residential life because people throughout the world utilize them on a daily basis. Automobiles are used as vehicles to commute to work and travel to schools and therefore play an indispensable role in daily life. Consequently, car-free days are applied in order to control the volume of cars on the streets. The aim of this practice is to decline carbon dioxide gas emitted excessively from cars. By prohibiting automobile use on some days, a huge amount of greenhouse gases are reduced and this way also encourages citizens to make use of public transport.

On the other hand, I strongly believe there are much more effective solutions to tackle the air contamination. Authorities should launch environmental campaigns to raise citizens' awareness, changing people's behaviours. Knowledge from the programs can help individuals be more energy efficient on a regular basis such as flying less, using bicycles and buses. Another measure is governments can impose 'green taxes' on factories which pump pollutants into the atmosphere. This law can act as a deterrent to bar factories from releasing gases tremendously. It is obvious that international car-free days are a temporary plan because on the other days, residents will certainly utilize them again. Nevertheless, information dissemination and regulations are such long-term strategies that can be used to mitigate the air pollution level day by day.

In conclusion, even though free-car days are beneficial, I agree with many long-term solutions. When educating local inhabitants or introducing strict laws to society, they will have permanent influences on people's awareness.

Writing Feedback / Some people think that a factory will bring many risks to the area they live in. [4]

Hi, I think you shouldn't add personal opinions, because the topic doesn't ask about personal opinions. Therefore, you just write by using people, they or citizens instead of I, We.

Plus, your conclusion should have at least 3 sentences.
Don't put But and So when you want to start a sentence or a paragraph.
That's based on my opinion.

Writing Feedback / Speaking same language in the future is good or bad? [2]

Topic: scientists say that in the future humanity will speak the same language. Do you think this is a positive or negative social development?

Merging whole world languages into one

Nowadays, many languages such as English, Chinese or Spanish are becoming so pervasive that the majority of people can speak. Therefore, some scientists believe that the popularity of a language can lead to its domination all over the world. As far as I am concerned, this development has both positive influences and negative outcomes.

On the one hand, the global prevalence of a language certainly gives rise to various positive impacts. As we all know, there is an increasing globalization in many aspects, ranging from economy to finance and education. The same language, therefore, can help people cooperate to run a business more conveniently and productively, even they have different nationalities or from different ethnics. Consequently, it is obvious that if people speak the same language, there will be more opportunities for them. For instance, workers who are unemployed in many countries can immigrate to other nations to seek for careers without concerning about language barriers. This phenomenon can result in the global economy, where trades will definitely become much easier. Moreover, speaking the same language can reduce the gaps among different nations and cultures. It is inevitable that citizens who are from other continents or different peoples are capable of making friends and gradually become much closer.

On the other hand, this development may contribute to a variety of detrimental consequences. Even though residents have no limits in communication, speaking the same language may put a stop to their mother tongues. People may realize their first languages are impractical and no need to preserve them or pass them on to coming generations. More importantly, if a language controls throughout the world, it may undermine the cultural diversity because languages and cultures are compatible. The loss of the mother tongue in a nation may deter their cultural identity from flourishing due to the link between languages and cultural values.

In conclusion, the domination of a global language will result in both benefits and drawbacks. Even though it may bring about many advantages, I strongly believe the disadvantages outweigh the benefits.
