Scholarship / Developing Country's Airports is my long tearm goal [10]

I think you have talked specifically about the companies but not about your plan with them. go deeper into what u hope to achieve what you need to acheive it and how you plan to achieve it for this is what the officers are looking for.

Scholarship / My ambitious personal goals helped create my revenant network [2]

Hello guys, this is my draft for the Chevening networking essay. if you can give me your feedback and comments. please feel free to suggest any addition or subtraction to it. Thanks in advance.

to become a member of young leaders network

As humans we seek to connect with one another for each communication is a prospect for personal growth. Something I have come to realise from my experience living in the UK for a while as child and again as an adult. I have had the chance to work with professionals and students regarding my field during my time abroad in the UK, Turkey and Egypt. Helping me greatly to build a good network. Living in multicultural place like the UK have really fascinated me meeting people from other cultures making connection I still keep to this day.

I have had the opportunity to demonstrate my networking and public speaking skills in the international conference on clean energy held in Birmingham. Where, I was part of time participating in the General Electric design challenge. During which we designed a concept for engineless racing cars, and I had to showcase our design to the judges and audience. It was frightening to speak to such a number. Nevertheless, I was well prepared, as result from attending the conference, I expanded my network and made valuable connections. Moreover, through participating in the British council events and workshops in Libya such as paving the youth forum in 2012. I met many interesting people that I still keep in touch with, one of which the British cultural delegate Cherry Gough. Who was really encouraging and supportive when I shared my objectives and goals in life. He inspired me to complete my Masters in the UK and asked to get in touch with him when I do.

Professional networks play a massive part in an engineer's professional career. I have learned that when I was working alongside a research team, where we needed funding. I managed to book a meeting with Almada telecom co research and development chief officer Mohamed Zawi, whom I have met before in a conference I participated in, couple of years before. Where through connections and networks I managed to call him personally and request the meeting, where he was more than happy to oblige.

Through working as part time English teacher, I have further expanded my network to include professionals from other fields working part time as me or other dedicated full time educators. I had a friend who was complaining from a back injury, and through using my network, I have managed to book him an appointment with one of the leading practitioner in Libya Youmna Almujbri, an appointment that would have been very hard to get through regular procedures.

My ambitious personal goals helped create my revenant network. As a Cheveing awardee, I will be able to communicate and collaborate with the UK's leading experts in Mechanical and energy engineering. I plan to work and learn for foreign scholars, while I am eager to immerse myself in the British prestigious culture and history. I would like to become a member of network of young leaders tackling modern problems. Exchanging ideas and collaborating for a brighter future.

Scholarship / Some examples of my networking abilities for Chevening application [4]

It's always better to tell stories than to post claims about your network. engage the leader make it as interesting and answer the question how did u use your network in the past and how will u use the oppertunity to use the chevening network in the future

Scholarship / Leaders are creators of social change. Influence positively on community. [2]

Chevening Leadership essay question

Here is my draft for the Chevening leadership question. Your feedback and comments are much appreciated.

Cries were rising, of what to do and how to approach the assignment handed. Everyone knew we needed a leader. This is when I stepped in organised the brainstorming, distributed the workload and motivated the team towered our goal. Achieving first place in the Red-Crescent competition for humanitarian aid in Libya. My team and the competition instructors praised my leadership ability, vision and practicality significantly. Leading me to head other teams and projects regarding Humanitarian aid and social development.

However, I believe my current role as project manager of a research team tackling issues on sustainable energy has had the most significant impact on my leadership and management skills. Working as project manager transcends beyond the technical capacities required in an engineer where everyone is counting on you for solutions. I am leading a team of three researchers. I am responsible for setting the project's plan, distributing the workload and motivating the team, which requires a lot of logistical prowess and flexibility, where sometimes we must forgo our approach and adopt a new one completely. Being a young professional does not intimidate me, I am always ready to present my ideas and take charge. Working in a multidisciplinary team although challenging, have really helped develop my multi-tasking skills, management and logistics.

I am always enthusiastic and excited to take part in competitions, I have participated in the Honey Well challenge, where I lead a multidisciplinary team of six in developing an axial-centrifugal pump impeller design, securing second place, where the judges praised my presentation and public speaking skills. I have participated in conferences and seminars and have published a scientific paper in a respected journal while working now to participate in the ASME conference on applied mechanics. I am also excited about participating in the international community, I have taken part in many global design challenges such as Boeing control flight challenge. And I have a patent on a digital designing accessory. In addition, I am a co-founder of the LSME (Libyan Society of Mechanical Engineers) working as a social and a research hub for mechanical engineers in Libya. It is a project, which I am very excited about to support and develop Libyan innovation, research and industry. I am working as a managing director of the institute responsible for organising activities, workshops and setting the plans to achieve the aims of the LSME.

Through working as a part-time English teacher in IH Benghazi, I have really improved my public speaking and organisational skills, planning the lesson development, setting the lesson's aims and managing the students. Moreover, I am the lead on the speaking program where I usually have speaking classes with as much as 100 students. Organising the class and helping the student develop their fluency and accuracy.

To sum up, Leaders are creators of social change. As a young leader, I have considerable accomplishments but I endeavour to further develop and obtain more knowledge that will benefit my community. A Chevening scholarship will influence my career significantly, providing me with new skills and experience that I can bring back home to develop the energy industry.
