B2B SaaS platform solution needed in Indonesia

I have a huge interest in technology industries that emerge in Indonesia right now. The conventional business practice has shifted into a modern business practice. The courses that I preferred is offering an advanced knowledge of modern business from creating the ideas, running the business process, developed the entrepreneurial mindset, and also build a sustainable modern business.

However, there a difference between each course. Newcastle University more specific to learn about E-Business industry and more into the practical skills in the industry itself. Whereas, in the University of Edinburgh and University of Birmingham focuses more on the general knowledge about Entrepreneurship in various sectors of business. I personally prefer Newcastle University since they offer a specific study about modern business for the future technology industry that emerging in Indonesia.

My first choice, of courses, is Newcastle University, majoring in E-Business. The course is specified to study modern e-business. It combines business strategies, leading technology, entrepreneurship, and organizational behavior. The students will learn about how companies plan, implement and conduct business with the customers, suppliers, and partners. I found that by studying the fundamentals of e-business, it will gradually develop my analytical and also practical skills. It also offers more in-depth about how e-business integrates with internal systems such as logistics, operations, finance.

The second choice is the University of Edinburgh majoring in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. The course offers more into general knowledge about entrepreneurship and also a heavy knowledge of Financial entrepreneurship as the stake of the business. The courses are not only offered theoretical knowledge but they also offer a project-based course that gives us the opportunity to address live innovation and entrepreneurship challenge with the real-life organizations.

The third choice, of courses, is the University of Birmingham that majoring in Management with Specialist Pathway. The programmes offer the advanced management concept by combining the core foundation of the subjects before choosing the specialist pathways. There are four specialist pathways that they offer and I'm planning to take the Entrepreneurship & Innovation specialist pathway because this pathway aiming to provide the students with solid practical, conceptual and also the analytical understanding of entrepreneurial start-ups. Besides, for this pathway, the students will also have the opportunity to start their own business.

As a developing country, Indonesia has a slow penetration towards technology industries. I'm interested to learn about the B2B SaaS platform solution and financial technology since right now technology companies that focus on B2B SaaS solution are still very rare in Indonesia I found that this business is really new for Indonesia's market and I think it will become the next business trend for the next 5 or 10 years. Here, I really want to take the opportunity to study abroad and learning to do the business in its best practice.

to be involved in the growth of the creative economy

After finishing the postgraduate study, my plan is to go back to my current company, XXXX. Currently, XXXX is aiming to simplify people and money problems that faced by business owner through technology. Creating an open cloud platform will give them insights to make decisions for a sustainable business growth. Working in XXXX give me chance to be involved in Indonesia's creative economy growth, especially in the digital development sector. I believe that I can apply the theoretical knowledge during my study to help technology companies like XXXX develop the products and its services to be the best in Indonesia because in the next 5 years the technology business trends will shifting from e-commerce market to B2B SaaS (Software as a Service) platform solution. By following this industry from the beginning, I will ace the right skills, mindset, and authority in leading the digital development transformation in Indonesia.

My plan aligned with the agreements between The British and Indonesian Government in technology and innovation partnerships in 2016 and still running until now. The agreements support collaboration between Indonesian Ministry's Directorate General for Innovation Enhancement and the UK Royal Academy of Engineering which will provide fully funded intensive training for Indonesian "technopreneurs". By collaborating with the UK scientific community under the Newton Fund programme, Indonesia can develop the capacity if its own innovators to be able to tackle developmental challenges. Human resource and its education will become an asset to its country especially in facing the growth of the creative economy nowadays.

By completing education in the best university in the UK and see or learn the best practices of technology innovation and entrepreneurial environment in the UK, I believe I can fulfill one of the objectives of UK-Indonesia agreements which is to promote and improve human resources development for creative industries. The B2B SaaS are facing a unique situation in Indonesia now, SaaS industries must take the role as the educator since cloud adoption itself is still low and the cloud concept is viewed with skepticism here in Indonesia. I choose to take a part of being the educator for the customer. Often, we found that SMBs (Small Medium Business) has lack of accountability in their business. Being the educator allows me to involved in building the right product that suitable with the needs of the customer and also involved in helping companies in Indonesia to adopt SaaS as their solution so then, their business can be accountable and sustainable. This also becomes an opportunity for us to create a more sustainable business in Indonesia. By combining creativity and technology it will create explosive economic growth for Indonesia.

To summarize, my career aspiration is to be involved in the growth of the creative economy especially in digital development. Once people starting to trust the cloud, the acceleration of technology solution will fly exponentially and at the same time, I believe there will be more fruitful bilateral collaboration in science and innovation between UK and Indonesia.
