Writing Feedback / TASK 1 - the figure for households getting access to different kind of up-to-date home appliances [2]
The provided line graph illustrates the figure for households getting access to different kind of up-to-date home appliances including CD player, Mobile phone, home computer, and internet access in the UK in the period between 1996 and 2003.
Overall, it is clear that there was an upward trend in the number of these all 4 devices in the given year. while CD players were most used, internet access seemed be least prevalent compared to others.
In 1996/1997, 60% of families in the UK used CD players. This figure continuously increased remarkably to over 80% by more than 20% at the end of the period. By contrast, there was no Internet access in 1996/97 until 1998/99 when it appeared and occupied for 10%. Moreover, in the following years, the UK witnessed a considerable rise in the proportion of the Internet and reach about 40% in 2002/03.
As for the others, the figures for home computer and mobile phone stood at about 27% and proximately 20% in 1996/97 respectively. In the period between 1998/99 and 2000/21, the latter surpassed the former at the point of about 37% and tended to increase considerably to just 70% while this one for home computer stopped at 57% at the end of the given time.
