car ownership in the uk

The line graph illustrates the percentage of people who owned cars in Britain over the period of 30 years.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there was a significant upward trend in the amount of 2 and 3 cars ownership while the number of people had no car experienced a sharp decline over the period has been shown. Additionally, there was no change in that of people owned 1 car.

It is obvious that the proportion of those in the UK had 1 car maintained unchanged from 1975 to 2005, despite a substantial fall by around 7% in 1985. The figure for people had no car plummeted over 10 years, followed by a stable drop in the next 20 years, at approximately 20% in total.

On the other hand, it can be seen from the graph that the percentage of those owned 2 cars increased dramatically 8% between 1975 and 1985, at which point this figure started to climb gradually in 1985. There was a steady rise in the amount of 3 cars ownership over 30 years, from 3% to nearly 10%.
