Undergraduate / Everything is Engineered - Waterloo AIF for Electrical Engineering [2]
2.
Comment, for example, on your interests and abilities; your career goals; exposure to engineering through school-related and other experiences; and discussions you have had with engineers, teachers, and current or past Waterloo students. (900 character limit)
Ans:
Almost everything around us is engineered, from the cars we drive around to the electronics we use daily. From a young age, I always had a passion for math and problem solving, because of this I competed in math competitions such as kangaroo and recently did the CEMC. In my physics classes, my teacher played a big role in my passion for engineering. Teaching and doing experiments about electricity and magnetism really intrigued me and made me want to further my education. Engineering is also a very hands-on job which leaves no room for boredom. My father and I together did the wiring of our basement, this introduced me to new concepts such as switches and what an overload is. As an Electrical engineer, I want to make a difference and tackle climate change problems and provide and help have a positive influence on society to make it a better place to live.
