"the IT industry" - SOP for Information Systems and Management [6]
Hi,
I got an offer letter from University of Bedfordshire for the course: Masters in Information Systems and Management.
Before I take any decision on it, I just want to know your valuable opinions on the university and its reputation.
I have also applied for Warwick university and yet to hear from them.
However, the expenses at warwick are a little too off my budget.
Please tell me if it is a good decision joining bedfordshire.
Thanks in advance

"the IT industry" - SOP for Information Systems and Management [6]
Hi,
I am planning to pursue my Masters degree in ISM. Please review the SoP that i have written. Your feedback will help me improve it before submission.
Statement of Purpose
It has always been my aspiration to use my skills and knowledge to bring innovation into practice, while thriving to be one of the finest business professional in the industry. I believe the key fundamentals needed to excel in this competitive market place are technological knowhow and the ability to interpret, manage and utilize information in the best possible way.
My four years undergraduate course in Electronics and Communication Engineering from TCE included wide range of electronics, networking and management courses. I completed the course in the year 2008 with a first class degree. During my under graduate days I got the opportunity to be a part of various techno fairs and symposiums. This strengthened my knowledge in latest and evolving technologies as well as improved my leadership and managerial qualities. I was also the Chief Student coordinator for "Tronissance '08 - A National Level Technical Symposium" hosted by TCE.
My other extracurricular activities have also been rich and varied. My active participation in various literary and cultural activities both in school and college was much appreciated. I received the "second prize" for creative writing competition conducted as a part of World Space Week by Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) in the year 2002. My sporting interest lies in Badminton and Table Tennis.
Soon after graduation, I joined as a technical writer with XXX.
XXX is a US based leading provider of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) software and services. My responsibilities included developing end user documentation for EAI products, understanding product usability and provide feedback on user interfaces. Other responsibilities included preparing white papers, case studies and brochures for various products.
In November 2009, I joined ABC handling documentation for Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks. I handled new content development, online helps and resolving defects and coordinating with the Development Engineering teams/cross functional teams for defect fixes. Developing quality documentation by adhering to customer specific standards and style guide was one of the key challenges.
During my two years tenure in the IT industry as a technical writer, with prestigious clients like Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks, I was fortunate enough to be a part of varied systems and processes. It was evident that a perfect blend of technical knowledge and business intelligence is required to achieve greater milestones in the industry. I observed that the key to building successful information systems involved correct understanding and analysis of information and effectively communicate the relevant technological and business objectives.
Having obtained a valuable work experience and suitable academic background, I am now prepared to strengthen and refine my expertise and knowledge through post graduate studies. A course work in Information Systems and Management will help me in gaining exposure to varied business process and sharpen my technical skills. This will help me grow as an individual who has a good understanding of the organizational requirements, be an objective critique and assess and assay the proposed IT architecture.
I believe managing information systems is a key cogwheel to generating necessary inputs for a professional to prepare a viable business strategy in order to succeed in today's competitive market place.
After having done a research on my various options, going through your website and consultation from my supervisors, I found out that the post graduate course at your university has modules which are well balanced in leveraging my existing knowledge and experience. I would consider it as a privilege to be a part of your esteemed institution where I would be exposed to a diverse professional atmosphere within the student community. This will help me immensely to understand global business trends, cultures and challenge me to excel in my career path. I sincerely hope that my application will be given thoughtful consideration.Yours truly,
