Question1:Compare the advantages of having friends who are different from you with the advantages of having friends who are similar to you. Which kind of friend do you prefer for yourself? Why?

There are advantages and disadvantages of having friends different from me and having friends similar from me. Personally, I think that making friends who are different from me have important influence on me. The reason is that I can enjoy different life styles and gain wider knowledge from my friends.

First of all, making friends who are different from me can lead me to enjoy different life styles. For example, if I am tired with the anxiety and stress of the concrete jungle, my sporty friend can introduce me to go camping or hiking to breathe fresh air and recharge my battery. If I am used to eat fatty and high-calorie food, my healthy friend will suggest me to cut back on these junk foods and push me to keep the daily exercise habit to improve my health.

In addition, making friends who are different from me can let me gain wider knowledge from them. And I can learn more different life and expertise skills.

For example, if I am not good at studying, my friends can teach me even set up a study group. Also, my friends will tell me some tips about studying, such as how to economize my time to get more done in less time to improve my academic performance. If I'm not good at cooking, my friends can show me how to simply cook a tasty food and give me some good recipes. If I encounter some difficulties which I can't deal with them, my friends can help me to find the solution and overcome the difficulties. I can possess more resources from my friends.

Concluding all the above, having friends different from me make it possible for me to escape from the dull and boring life so that I can enjoy different life styles and gain more knowledge from them to bright my life.

Question2:What do you want most in a friend-someone who is intelligent, or someone who has a sense of humor, or someone who is reliable? Which one of these characteristics is most important to you?

According to the research, most of people who live in the modern concrete jungle suffer from the nervous and anxious life. The phenomena even raise the suicide rate, so in real life, I prefer to make friends with someone have a sense of humor. The fact is that getting along with a person who has a sense of humor can relax my stress, enjoy in a happy mood, or even help me to look at the good side of life.

First, I can release my bad mood and stay in a comfortable status when I with my friend who is very zestful. For example, if sometimes I feel frustrated or stressed-out. My friend who has a sense of humor can make me laugh. If I am in a bad mood. My friend's joke and funny saying can let me release my mirthlessness through the way of laugh.

In addition, the friend who has a sense of humor can help me look at the bright side of life. Take me for example, I encountered a distress in my life when I broke up with my boyfriend. In that dark period, I always felt unhappy and frustrated. I not only came down with insomnia but also even want to commit suicide. One day, my best friend who are optimistic and has a sense of humor told me a wisdom. As my friend said, Life is too short to wake up in the morning regret. So, enjoy the laugh and the wonderful life rather than suffer from the pain. Only laugh can heal your hurt and heart. Since then, I have learned how to enjoy my life and look at the good side of life. Now, I am happier than before.

Considering all the above, I would like to make friends with a person who has a sense of humor. I think that can make it possible for me to enjoy my life and use a positive and optimistic attitude to look at the world.

Groups or organizations are an important part of some people's lives. Why are groups or organizations important to people? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Essay:
Views vary with regard to why groups or organizations are important to people. I think that groups or organizations are extremely important in our daily life. The reason is that groups or organizations help me to gain more knowledge and learn more social skills from the pursuits of groups or organizations.

First of all, knowledge is gained from life experiences. Attending groups or organizations are the better ways to accumulate my life experiences. For example, I was a scout in my senior high school. I often went hiking and camping with my team. From these activities, I not only learned many Survival techniques about hwo to survive in the forest or wild when I 'm missing but also gained more knowledge of herbs and insects from these experiences.

Second, groups or organizations make it possible for me to learn different social skills from the activities, such as communication skill, or leadership skill. Take me for example, I have ever been the scout delegation to joined the World Scout Jamboree in Japan. In there, I have to communicate with my Japanese team members. So I use my body language to communicate with them. Finally, I made a lot of good friends with them even I couldn't speak Japanese. Besides, there are many Japanese team members younger than me. Every time we discussed the scout marketing strategies, I had to lead them to come up with some new ideals and deal with the marketing barriers. Although it's very hard for me, when I got over it and our team win the best-marketing award. It's worthy and honorable. From this activity, I improved the both abilities of communication skill and leadership skill.

Considering all the above, I argue for the important influence of groups or organizations in terms of the extension of knowledge , social skills and the network of contacts.
